Kimberly, Salon Owner

I purchased this salon in the Fall of 2022 and have worked tirelessly to create Hairspace which had its grand opening in September 2024. Since 2005, I have been working on my Cosmetology career. I am an American Board Certified Haircolorist and taught at the ABCH Summit in Los Angeles in 2011 and 2012. I have attended Bumble and Bumble University in New York City as well as Keune Academy in Atlanta and attended workshops at various studios in NYC.

I absolutely love what I do and enjoy offering my clients consistently beautiful hair that is healthy, fresh, and inspo-worthy every time they visit.

Outside of the salon, you will see me around Tacoma, hanging out with friends at our favorite Tacoma bars or I’ll be at Wright Park walking my pup, Fred. Otherwise, check me out on Instagram and follow me! I post regularly on my stories. Be sure to say hi!

I have been working behind the chair since 2012. I love building close bonds with my clients- they become family to me! Having your hair done is so much more than a new cut or color. It’s your time to relax in my chair, read a book, get back to all the texts you have missed throughout the day, or fill me in on how the family is doing. My favorite services are grey hair coverage, blondes, and cuts but I still offer other services. I’m also a busy mom of three so I know how important it is to feel that your time spent is valued.

I enjoy doing a wide assortment of cuts and colors which include blended blonde, vibrant color blocking, textured shags, precision bobs, and long blended balayage waves. My main focus is cultivating healthy, strong, beautiful hair that fits your lifestyle, balanced with realistic maintenance needs. I work with my clients to bring out their inner beauty. While in my chair, expect fun conversations about interests and life, as well as my interests which include birdwatching, my dog, and musicals. Hi there! My name is Miya (pronounced Me-ya) and I can’t wait to be your hairstylist! I’ve spent the last decade perfecting my craft and am proud to be a dimensional color and correction specialist. I started my career in Portland where I assisted master stylists in high-end salons for about 2 years after graduating from the Aveda Institute of Portland. I had amazing mentors and while assisting, I realized I wanted to specialize in transformative color- dimensional blonding on brunettes, fun and spicy fashion colors, and I have a lot of experience with Asian and Latina hair. In my off time, I love being at home with my partner, Ryley, and our gang of fur babies. We love traveling to new places and exploring the outdoors. I love 90’s hip hop, R&B and jamming out while cooking at home. Spirituality is important to me and I try to sprinkle kindness and love everywhere I go. -P.S. don’t forget to ask me about my crystal obsession! We love to go rockhounding.

Hi there! I’m Erica, a wife and mom of two little boys who keep me on my toes! I have a serious love of travel and love having a trip planned on the horizon to look forward to. I consider myself an extroverted introvert, I love having that one-on-one connection with my clients and then recharging with me time, a quiet room, and a book. I’ve been in the industry and self-employed for over 15 years, I have been fortunate to have had many opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills with continuing education as well as working as an Artist Educator for Pureology. I’m truly thankful that I get to do what I love as my career. I love the relationships I have developed as a result of wonderful conversations. stories told and experiences shared in my salon chair and feel blessed that this is my life. My focus is on creating beautiful hair for my clients while maintaining its integrity. I believe in the importance of sharing my professional knowledge so that they have the skills, products, and tools they need to style their hair. I want them to feel beautiful every day, not just when they leave my chair.

I specialize in dimensional color, using Kevin Murphy color. As well as technical haircutting- free-handed bangs, layers, shags, etc- where I’ve trained at Bumble and Bumble and Toni & Guy.
